News Update
Recordings
In January 2012, Nick Magnus & I will be hard at work on the follow up to Checking Out of London with lyrics by the Bard of Chelsea, Mr Nick Clabburn.
Also, Tony Patterson & I have often talked of an instrumental project together and we have started work on some pieces that use Tony’s considerable skills with a more panoramic sound picture.

Guest spots
It was brilliant to guest with Steve in Gloucester and London as part of his Breaking Waves tour - great crowd and the band were all in fine form!

I really enjoyed playing with our friends The Watch in London and Maltby, Rotherham on Friday 2nd & Sat 3rd December as part of their Genesis Green Show tour.
Nick Magnus & I also performed a short set and it was good to catch up with some old friends.

Marco lo Muscio
On Sunday 3rd July I was delighted to join Marco Lo Muscio and Giorgio Gabriel for a recital in Rome as part of the 2011 International Organ Summer Festival.

John & Nick
Following on from our appearances with The Watch in Italy and the UK in 2010, the John Hackett & Nick Magnus Live 2010 album is now available.
We were delighted that special guest Giorgio Gabriel, The Watch guitarist, was able to join us for three tracks including the Steve Hackett classics 'Jacuzzi' and 'Hands of the Priestess'.
On 30th January, 2011, we did a live session for Paul Baker’s show on ARFM radio. Dick Foster was there to capture the moment and you can see what happened here
Progmeister Festival
A huge thank you to Steve Petch and all the crew at the Progmesiter Festival held at the Studio in Hartlepool. It was a brilliantly organised event and Nick and I were proud to be part of it.
Highlights for me were Glaciers’ a cappella singing, Steve Dundon's (from Manning) driving flute playing and Helen’s potato soup!
Thanks to everyone for being so quiet during our set – hopefully not all were asleep.
And, thankfully, I narrowly missed winning my own T-shirt in the raffle – now that would have been sad…
